    INVISIBLE DESIGN

One of the biggest benefits of roller shades is their ability to appear invisible and give a full exterior view. This is an amazing feature, particularly for those residential settings with a beautiful view outside. Homes with large picture windows or panel-windows can benefit from the installation of roller shades. You can choose between a cassette valance, a metal fascia, open roll, or reverse roll.

    EXCELLENT VERSATILITY

Whether you prefer to block sunlight completely or want partial light filtration and moderate privacy, our selection of roller shades has you covered. We offer a range of premium light-filtering shades with both motorized and corded options designed to preserve your view outside while providing much-needed privacy.

    ENERGY-EFFICIENCY

Large apartments or homes have high heating and cooling costs. You can lower this cost with energy-efficient roller shades. They help keep rooms warm or cool by preventing air from escaping through windows. They also allow your heating and cooling systems to function more efficiently, thus significantly lowering your energy bills.

    Caring for Your Roller Shades

Roller shades are highly versatile and practical window decorations, but like anything else in your house, they can accumulate dust and dirt. Dust, crumbs, spills and even bugs can spoil your shades. Luckily, cleaning them is simple and only takes a few minutes.

Here’s how you can take care of your roller shades.

    Vacuum

Use your vacuum’s brush tool to thoroughly remove dust and dirt. Start cleaning your shades at the top, moving the brush wand from left to the right, making your way down to the bottom.

    Wipe Down

Wet a sponge or clean dishtowel in mild soapy water and wring out excess cleaner. Wipe from one side of the shades to the other, and continue moving down until you reach the bottom.

    Use a Stain Remover

If tough stains don’t come off even after scrubbing, use a fabric stain remover. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully and try testing it out on one section of the shades first.

    Dry Completely

Rolling your shades while they’re still damp can develop mould and mildew. This is particularly harmful for those suffering from respiratory issues like asthma and dust allergies. Leave your shades extended overnight and retract them once completely dry.

Four Popular Types of Roller Shades

You will find the following popular types of roller shades at our store.

    Electric Roller Shades

Electric roller shades are a premium and luxurious window covering programmed through a motorized unit. Set your shades to open and close at specific times to maximize energy efficiency.

    Duo Roller Shades

Made up of two layers of sheer and opaque horizontal striped fabric, duo roller shades are designed to give you control over light and privacy. Enjoy the view outside during the day and privacy at night.

    Silhouette Roller Shades

Similar in effect to duo roller shades, silhouette shades are made using two different fabrics joined together. They’re perfect for creating a clean and elegant atmosphere and the illusion of space.

    Triple Roller Shades

Made of three-layered fabric, triple roller shades act as a light filtering window treatment, without the blinding glare. These are completely versatile and can be easily rolled up or down.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Our window treatment experts share answers to some questions commonly asked about roller shades.

    1. What is the difference between inside and outside mount?

The difference lies in their mode of hanging.

Inside mounted shades are mounted inside the window opening that is recessed from the wall. Outside mounts hang outside the window opening, either on or above and beyond the wood frame. Inside mount is the most common way to hang window shades and provides a clean look.

    2. What fabrics are roller shades made from?

We offer roller shades in a range of fabrics.

There are many roller blind fabrics, the most common being polyester with additional layers added for a blackout effect. Waterproof roller shades are usually made from PVC plastic. With the recent introduction of thermal lining, cotton roller shades are also becoming popular.

    3. What are double roller shades?

They are two shades that hang together on the same mechanism but operate independently.

Double roller shades, commonly referred to as ‘day and night shades’ or zebra shades, are made of two types of fabric. They are patterned in thick horizontal stripes, alternating between a semi-transparent (voile) and dark-coloured fabric.

    4. Which way should a roller shade face?

The direction of the roll depends upon your personal choice.

A standard roller shade rolls down towards the glass and a reverse roll rolls down towards the room. Typically, all of our roller shades have a standard roll, but you can swap its face by unrolling it completely and rolling it up in the opposite direction.
